I'm doing real well in Owensboro Kentucky. :) This week I had a unique dream that I ended up teaching Johnny Depp and he was real interested in the Book of Mormon. Elder Anderson and I know an old man real well that lives on the same street that Johnny Depp grew up on that we visited this week. (guess that is part of why I dreamt of that). This week I went to the YMCA and got to play basketball with the 69 year old man we know.
:) There is another neat person Elder Anderson and I got to play basketball with a couple weeks ago that weighs 470 pounds. He is someone we are teaching, and he came to church this Sunday. I love him like a brother.
Being out here I've come to grow in so many Christ like attributes...and of course I have yet to always improve. Always room to improve like they all say.
Coming up on Saturday May 11th will be a huge event in Owensboro which I've looked forward to ever since I got here. The BBQ Festival. There is expected to be around 100,000 people coming to that event. One of which will be a buddy of mine from my last area which I'm excited to potentially see there.
This year we celebrated my dear Canadian missionary companions year mark by eating at a place called Cracker Barrel. That place has such good Southern food. We ate Catfish for our first time.
I look forward to giving the family a phone call this Sunday on May 13th. Be ready to tell me about what ya'll have done in the past while since I last spoke with ya. I know you must have some neat stories to tell.
Missionary work is going well here in case ya'll were wondering by the way. We are teaching a few 10 year old boys that are needing to make the decision or receive permission to get baptized. Looking forward to the possibility of seeing them get baptized.
Love ya'll,
Elder Dimter
p.s. Did any of ya'll watch the Kentucky Derby this week?
missionary advice to a member: don't forget to let the people you home teach how much ya'll love em' especially for those whose mommmas have passed away.
