Today I'm going to the Dentist to do a cleaning and exam on my teeth. I was taking a look at my teeth a few weeks ago and felt a need to go to the dentist. Hopefully I'll have a member from the Ward get to work on my teeth today at the office I'm going to. What is weird is I'm looking forward to going to the dentist.
So my testimony of the Church is deepening like crazy. I've worked on studying more in depth of the Gospel and am finding answers from the scriptures I've never noticed. I feel like a much more versatile teacher now with the topics I can expound upon. Still though the fundamentals is what the Gospel comes down to.
This week will be a new adventure for me on my mission! I'll be serving in a TRIO! That means instead of having one missionary to serve with I have two. His name we heard is Elder Fisher. I am unsure if I know him but we'll see I might have met him before.
=)
So I hear that my sister Sarah is going to have a baby girl! Congratulations! I am curious what her name will be. =^) I certainly look forward to meeting the baby when I get the chance too when I return. Which I am still unaware when exactly I'll return. It could be in 5 and half months or 4 months depending on if I get permission to come home a transfer early for school from my Mission President. I still need to figure out when the Spring Semester starts though for Modesto Junior College which is currently what part of my plans when I return.
The past few weeks my companion and I have worked on fixing up our apartment. We had a few issues with the toilet being cracked, broken towel rack, mantle was messed up, broken outlet covers, missing batteries from our smoke detector and co2 detector. Our hundred year old stair rail was worked on by our landlord which was nice. We also didn't have chairs for the apartment...lol so I've used my yoga ball. The busted couches are alright for studying though. We are getting chairs soon =]. We live in a great part of town though so I can't complain much and our landlord helped us out.
A guy from the ward just left for his mission to Bulgaria. Before he left Elder Dansie and I made sure to get him prepped by hooking him up with some cd's, great scriptures to use for teaching, poems, words of encouragement, some spiritually powerful talks.
My favorite story of the week - while driving home we saw a drunk man pee himself. That was out of the ordinary. I guess that's what you get to see when you live in a town with a number of bars.
On a more missionary awesome experience a person I taught gave me a call and asked if I'd baptize her. I love when that happens.
There is an old woman that we are teaching that I've started calling my grandma. She has such a sweet personality and she has a french bulldog that I love to death.
We have a couple that was called recently as our Ward Missionaries that we are calling family also.
This week I got to see some members from the Ward perform in their band! They were so great and funny! I wish you could have seen it. We saw someone who works at the Temple there.
Missionary work is changing and I'm excited to have the opportunity to be a part of it at this time.
=)
With Love,
Elder Dimter
