Hello AMERICA! ;)
I am so happy!!! This week I spoke on the phone with my family...since it was mothers day! I tried to avoid bearing my testimony during the conversation on the phone so much...haha bearing your testimony is habit forming...anyways I loved every minute I got...lol I am already looking forward to calling back home on Christmas. :).
So I've worked hard in serving to the best of my abilities for the Lord this week too. My companion and I have found many new people to teach about the gospel. I don't think I've ever been so excited in my life to talk about the gospel with people. Any shyness that you had as a person can just get thrown out the door as a missionary. As you read scriptures often your mouth really does get loosed with what to say...
This past week I felt the spirit very strongly in the home of a recent convert. He spoke hardly any English. While we were over I gave a blessing to his niece that was a 6 month old baby...peace was felt in the home...and the baby fell asleep after I closed in the name of Jesus Christ. The baby had a lot of water that was in its brain...and weighed 30 pounds which is normally what a baby a year and a half might weigh I think.
Interesting things...
An investigator we taught for the first time this week read and prayed about the Book of Mormon and knows it to be true
Met some interesting people from one house who we are teaching now...
11 year old girl who said she is going to hell...she says depressing things but still smiles every so often when I talk more, indian 30 year old guy with a pegged leg that lived in Texas before and knew a bunch of missionaries, his brother lives with him and is in his 30's...he dressed up as an Indian just before we came over :), his fiance Jackie that is a sweet person and is missing teeth :), then there was another old lady with almost every tooth missing that lives in the house.
Willie the man with the pegged leg as we were teaching his family he possibly had a heart attack and was taken back to the hospital.
Met a tubby black boy who has dimples without smiling ^_^.
The new investigator that knows the Book of Mormon is true is very well educated...
My neighbor is moving and gave us some furniture and some food. Her dog bit my knuckle this week.
The streets have flooded and my companion and I can't drive out to see some people. I'll have to show you a picture sometime.
Love,
Elder Dimter
p.s. thanks for all the letters you've sent me...
