Every p-day (Monday) I e-mail my Mission President. Sometimes I take a while with writing a good e-mail. This week in particular took an extra amount of time considering on March 26, at 4:38 pm my father passed away.
I'd like you all to see what I wrote my MP.
"Dear President,
After speaking with you on the phone Saturday I said a prayer and called my family. The conversation was filled with tears and laughter. I mostly talked with my mom and older brother. We talked about the funeral service and what reminds us of my dad. I enjoyed getting a chance to speak with them and telling them I love them.
This Sunday I bore my testimony at church. I had a smile on my face and testified of the Plan of Salvation. I expressed the joy I have since I know my family is sealed together it makes it possible for me to see my father again. I mentioned I was thankful for the example Christ is for my family. No matter the circumstance Christ endured to the end and that we should apply that principle in our lives as well. That by enduring to the end we are able to return to live with Christ and receive Eternal Life.
The ward was kind and showed their respect for me. After church a family invited Elder Romrell and I over for lunch. My companion and I ate lunch and left a message with the family. There was a good spirit at their home.
This past week has been a time for finding, teaching, inviting and service. Elder Romrell and I did some tracting this week and found a few potential investigators. This week during the exchange with the Zone Leaders Elder Naylor and I found a handful of potential investigators and a new investigator. It was great. Just yesterday Elder Romrell and I taught the investigator with a new convert present and taught the restoration. We are excited to continue the lessons with her.
Elder Romrell and I this week did service by helping the Bishop move. While we helped the Bishop moved we talked with a part member family and gained a greater friendship with the family.
This coming week we have a goal to visit the part member family we saw during the move. Elder Romrell and I plan to work this week with potential investigators we have. We hope these potentials receive the message of the restoration well. We'd like to have those potential investigators become investigators.
I plan to work on memorizing some scriptures that I might include during the lessons.
The work of the Lord is going and I am a part of it. I am joyful to be a representative of our Savior especially during this time of my life. I am growing in spirit and meeting so many Children of God that are helping my spirit expand even more.
Thanks for all that you do President.
Love,
Elder Dimter"
Anyways...
March 26th at 4:38, my father Jon Michael Dimter passed away. He had Cancer in his liver and lymph nodes. Two weeks before passing away his liver stopped working properly and caused a yellowing of my dads skin. He got what is called jaundice. As the toxins in his body built up in my dad I am sure so did the pain.
I'd like to thank the members of my family and others who were there for dad.
I will not be going back home for my dads funeral but I would like the funeral to be recorded. This way I may get the opportunity to see it.
I love you all and hope you have an opportunity to go to my dads funeral.
The more the merrier.
Elder Dimter
